Old Man's Beard

Old Man’s Beard are not old, are not all men, and do not all have beards. They are British Columbia's unique blend of reggae, boot-stompin' folk, and rock and roll that have played their way into the hearts of fans in Western Canada. The band is now bringing its well-placed harmonies and toe-tappin' rhythms to the rest of the country en route to the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals conference in Ottawa. Barely a year old, Old Man's Beard have released its debut album, The River, received a nomination for Best New Artist at the BC Interior Music Awards, and performed for 4000 people as part of the Olympic Torch Relay. The band has also conducted interviews on CBC Radio One, performed on-air on the Shore 104 in Vancouver and completed its summer of shows with a performance at Salmon Arm's Roots and Blues Festival. The band is setting its sights on 2011 for writing and recording another album along with a strong presence on the Canadian summer music festival circuit. "A fine balance of simplicity, intensity, smooth harmonies and lyrical honesty..." - Hugo Rampen, Artistic Director, Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival
