My Dearest Friends
It's difficult to qualify a band's sound when that very group's bassist has already dubbed it 'naprock.' In reality, the stirring sounds of My Dearest Friends fall somewhere between The Beach Boys and Reed Rothchild. It's a simmering mix of Cheever's 'Stories' and the spaced mess-ability of Portishead. A 1950's burger joint with roller skates and Radiohead b-sides blaring out under the covered parking lot. Sunny Day Real Estate by way of the Suez Canal. Like all great art, it's indescribably focused, beautiful, and irreverent. But whatever metaphors and adjectives you attach to it, My Dearest Friends is making music which undeniably needs to be heard. Right.Upcoming Performances
